Dubai gold jumps to Dh530.50 for 24K as precious metals climb worldwide
Silver, platinum and palladium extend gains
DUBAI – Gold prices in Dubai opened Monday with retail rates holding firm, even as global bullion markets surged on heightened geopolitical tensions.
The latest prices were issued by the Dubai Jewellery Group, keeping local buyers focused on gram-based rates across popular purities. Internationally, gold touched a one-week high, while other precious metals recorded sharp gains.
Dubai gold rates
According to the Dubai Jewellery Group, the suggested retail gold jewellery prices per gram as of Monday are Dh530.50 for 24K, Dh491.25 for 22K, Dh471.00 for 21K and Dh403.75 for 18K. The 14K rate stands at Dh315.00 per gram.
These levels keep Dubai among the most closely watched retail gold markets globally, particularly for jewellery buyers tracking daily movements.
Global gold markets
In international trade, spot gold climbed 1.8% to $4,406.77 per ounce, marking a one-week high, while US gold futures for February delivery rose 1.9% to $4,413.40. The move followed escalating geopolitical developments in Latin America over the weekend, which strengthened demand for safe-haven assets. Gold remains near historic levels after reaching a record $4,549.71 on December 26, 2025.
Bullion recorded a 64% gain over the past year, its strongest annual performance since 1979. The rally has been supported by expectations of lower interest rates, continued central bank buying and inflows into gold-backed exchange-traded funds. Market attention is also turning to upcoming US non-farm payroll data for signals on the Federal Reserve’s policy outlook in 2026.
Other precious metals
Other precious metals moved sharply higher alongside gold. Spot silver jumped 3.9% to $75.46 per ounce, after setting an all-time high of $83.62 late last month. Silver ended 2025 with a record annual gain of 147%, driven by its designation as a critical US mineral and tightening supply amid rising industrial demand.
Platinum rose 2.2% to $2,189.88 per ounce, having touched a record $2,478.50 last week, while palladium gained 2.1% to $1,671.95 per ounce during early trading.
